DIOCESAN INVESTMENT TRUST (DIT)              

A Common Trust Fund Managed by the Trustees of Donations

The Trustees of Donations to the Protestant Episcopal Church (TOD) is a non-profit, Episcopal corporation founded in 1810 to receive and manage funds for the benefit of the Bishop and the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts (EDOM). In 1939 the TOD established the DIT to provide EDOM parishes and affiliated organizations with an investment vehicle for their endowments. Today 158 participants-including the EDOM, the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, 144 parishes, and 12 diocesan related organizations-hold 800 separate accounts in the DIT with a combined market value of $150 million.  

The TOD welcomes invitations from EDOM parishes and affiliated organizations to discuss existing or prospective investments in the DIT. A meeting with TOD representatives can be arranged by calling the TOD's Investment Coordinator at (617) 482-4826 ext. 557.

The DIT Offers its Participants

• A Stock Fund and an Income Fund

• Diversified portfolios that reduce risk and exposure to market swings

• Professional investment management with oversight by the TOD and its investment advisor

• Quarterly income distributions

• Multiple accounts for endowments, special-purpose funds and operating funds

• Proxies voted in accordance with socially responsible guidelines

TOD Oversight of the DIT

• The TOD board meets five times a year to review performance, operations, allocations and other business

• The TOD's Investment  Committee, Social Responsibility in Investment Committee, and Audit Committee meet separately to conduct in-depth analyses of policies, performance and procedures

• The DIT's five investment managers are required to attend at least one board meeting a year
